Perris; Two Menifee Men Arrested for Felony Gun Charges & Operating a Chop Shop

On Wednesday, March 14, 2018, about 10:30 AM, Menifee and Perris Special Enforcement Team Officers conducted a vehicle check of a Honda parked near the intersection of G Street & 6th Street in the city of Perris. Inspection of the Honda revealed the Vehicle Identification Number had been switched and the car had been previously reported stolen out of the city of Menifee.

The driver, Billy Triplett (24-year-old of Menifee), was arrested and booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center for possession of a stolen car and burglary tools.

On Thursday, March 15, 2018, about 4:00 PM, Menifee and Perris Special Enforcement Team Officers served a search warrant at Triplett’s residence located within the 27000 block of Jefferson Avenue, Menifee. Officers located a wanted felon, Raymond Jones (27-year-old of Menifee), attempting to hide within the residence.

Search of the location revealed evidence of an active chop shop. Further, deputies located 14 firearms, body armor, and a large quantity of ammunition. Jones was booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center for his felony warrant. Felony gun charges will be submitted to the Riverside District Attorney’s Office for filing against Jones and Triplett.
