Riverside County: Inmate Dies in Custody at the Robert Presley Detention Center Monday


On Monday, July 16, 2018, about 8:44 P.M., deputies assigned to the Robert Presley Detention Center located an adult male Hispanic unresponsive within his cell in a housing area of the facility. Deputies and medical personnel in the jail initiated life saving measures and the male Hispanic inmate was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

The Riverside Sheriff’s Department, Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Investigations Bureau and Robert Presley Detention Center Investigators responded and assumed the investigation.

The identification of the victim will not be released at this time pending notification of family.

There are no signs of foul play and due to the ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
