Riverside: The Dickens Festival Celebrates it’s 24th Year this Weekend

The Dickens Festival, named after the famous English writer Charles Dickens will celebrate it’s 24th year this weekend. The two day event is held in Historic downtown Riverside on Main Street between University Avenue and 11th Street in front of City Hall.

The Riverside Dickens Festival is run by a non-profit that seeks to enhance a sense of community among California residents. The Group created a series of literary events that bring together people from all segments of society.

Come see as he Victorian Era comes back to life with hundreds of Festival Goers don authentic costumes and “relive” the good old days of Victorian England. The Festival includes performances at the Royal Victorian Tearoom and Music Hall, Meet Mr. Dickens, the Authors Salon and more.

Street performers like musicians, magicians, jugglers, stilt walkers, puppeteers are there to entertain, There is also a family friendly stage set in the time of Charles Dickens’ England.. There are a minimum of two performances of 20—25 minutes each day.
