Riverside: Four Juveniles Arrested After a 2 Day Robbery & Crime Spree

The 4 Suspects were Armed & also Committed Several Robberies in Ontario and Montclair since July

On Tuesday, August 7, 2018, three male juveniles were located, arrested, and booked into the San Bernardino County Central Juvenile Hall for a string of robberies that occurred in Riverside and San Bernardino County. A fourth involved juvenile was located and arrested the following day.

During this past Saturday and Sunday, August 5th and 6th, these four male juvenile suspects borrowed their parents’ cars and committed a series of robberies.

Once they found unsuspecting victims, a few of the suspects would jump out of the car and rob them of personal items at gunpoint. They used three different vehicles in the crime spree that included a dark blue 2006 BMW 325i, silver 2000 Infiniti I30, and a green 2010 Kia Soul.

The robberies that occurred in Riverside were in the 1400 block of Salmon River Road in the Northside neighborhood, Massachusetts Avenue and Turquoise Street in the University neighborhood, Luther Street and Palm Avenue in the Magnolia Center neighborhood, and near the Nordstrom Rack at the Riverside Plaza.

Due to the quick notifications and dissemination of crime information made by patrol officers, detectives were able to determine these same suspects were also being sought by the Fontana Police Department for similar robberies occurring in their city, as well as in the cities of Ontario and Montclair. It is believed these suspects committed at least ten robberies since July 23, 2018, within the two counties.

During their follow-up investigation, detectives with the Fontana Police Department were able to identify the suspects. They located and arrested three of the juveniles on August 7th, and the fourth on August 8th.

Since all four suspects are minors, their identities cannot be released. Detectives with the Riverside and Fontana Police Departments are jointly working this investigation. Anyone with information regarding the crimes that occurred in Riverside is urged to contact Detective Brett Stennett at (951) 353-7213 or bstennet@riversideca.gov.
