Riverside: Police Arrest Man with Gun Vandalizing Mail Boxes


 

Tuesday evening, January 3, 2017 at about 8:15 p.m., officers responded to a man with a gun call at the 5600 Block of Portola Way. The officers learned that a male subject, who has never been seen in the neighborhood before, was vandalizing several mail boxes.

The subject then made several threats towards neighbors that he was going to get a rifle and shoot them. The subject was seen going into a house and returned with what appeared to be a rifle, and started running towards neighbors. Upon the officers’ arrival, the subject was inside a house breaking windows, and yelling at the officers to shoot him.

Officers made several announcements for the subject to come outside, which he eventually complied and was safely taken into custody. The subject was identified as Octavio Carrillo, 24-year-old of Riverside, he was arrested and booked into jail for felony vandalism and criminal threats.
