Riverside: Police Investigating Shooting that Seriously Injured Two on 5th Street Saturday Night

On Saturday, August 18, 2018, at approximately 8:20 p.m., the City of Riverside’s Public Safety Dispatch Center received calls of a large fight occurring near the 3400 block of 5th Street, in the Downtown neighborhood of Riverside. While Riverside Police Officers were responding to this area, they learned two male subjects had been shot multiple times.

Officers arrived on scene and began their investigation, while paramedics with the Riverside Fire Department treated the two gunshot victims. Both victims were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Detectives with the Robbery – Homicide Unit and Gang Unit, along with Specialists from the Forensics Unit, responded to assume the investigation.
