Riverside: Suspect Taken into Custody for Thursday’s Murder & Attempted Murder


On Thursday, May 10th, 2018 at about 6:07 pm, deputies were dispatched to an “Assault with a Deadly Weapon” near the south entrance to the Ben Clark Training Center, located at 16791 Davis Ave., Riverside.  Deputies arrived and located an adult male victim shot. The victim was aided by Sheriff’s personnel assigned to the training center.  The victim was transported to a local hospital and survived his injuries.

A second adult male victim was found deceased at a residence located in the 21900 block of Bailly St., Mead Valley. 

Investigators were able to identify Efrain Lopez as a suspect involved in the incident. On 5/11/18, a suspicious vehicle was located within the Ben Clark Training Center. A search of the vehicle was conducted and Lopez was located and arrested. Lopez was booked for murder and attempted murder.

The identity of the decedent will not be released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
