Riverside: Two Suspects Arrested for Attempting to Tow Away & Steal a Truck Early Thursday Morning

Early on Thursday morning, October 18, 2018, at about 2:38 a.m., officers responded to the 3300 block of Russell Street regarding two subjects who cut the gate to a vacant residence.

It was learned that the two suspects, later identified as Roy Salgado, 26-year-old of Mead Valley, and Sergio Fernandez, 27-year-old of Perris, were attempting to tow away a truck from the residence.

Officers were able to stop the vehicles a short distance away, and the suspects were safely detained. After further investigation, it was learned that one of the cars were reported stolen from the city of Ontario.

Both Fernandez and Salgado were arrested and booked into jail for vehicle theft and trespass.
