San Jacinto: Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting of Man & Wounding of Child

Robert Whitecloud Trujillo was Apprehended after he Rammed Two Police Cruisers

A deadly shooting took place about 5:45 pm Thursday night. The shooting was at a home in the 400 block of South Carmalita Street and left one man dead and a 10-year-old boy wounded.

Michael Lujan, 30 of Hemet was rushed to a hospital, but died of his wounds.

The 10-year-old boy was taken to the hospital by his family and was listed in stable condition. It was not clear Saturday if the two shootings were related and also not clear what the relationships was between the suspect and the victims.

Detectives identified Robert Whitecloud Trujillo, who was on felony probation for a prior criminal conviction as the suspect in the attack. Police tracked Trujillo down in San Jacinto, when Trujillo tried to escape.

Trujillo attempted to ram two police cruisers and was subdued with “less than lethal munitions” while being arrested. The arrest was made at about 10 pm Friday night in the 22700 block of Soboba Road in San Jacinto.
