SoCal: Ex Murrieta Valley Water Polo Coach Sentenced to 4 Months Jail Time & 3 Years Probation for Sex with a Underage Teen

Eric Craig Schleuniger, a 20-year-old water polo coach who confessed to having sexual relations with a teenage girl was sentenced Wednesday to four months in jail and three years felony probation.

The investigation into Schleuniger began last July based on reports that the defendant, who coached a traveling water polo team had been involved in several sexual encounters with the minor female.

Schleuniger pleaded guilty in May to unlawful intercourse with a minor. In exchange for his confession, the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office dropped three related felony charges.

Superior Court Judge Stephen Gallon gave Schleuniger the option of serving his in-custody time on home detention, wearing an ankle bracelet that can track him.
