SoCal: Knife Welding Man Shot & Killed by Sheriff’s Deputy Saturday Night


On Saturday, January 5, about 9:52 PM, a deputy from the Perris Sheriff’s Station responded to the report of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon in the 17300 block of Kaison Circle, in the unincorporated area of Riverside County, known as Glenn Valley.

The deputy contacted the suspect, an adult male, in front of the residence. The suspect, armed with a knife, advanced towards the deputy and a deputy involved shooting occurred. Life-saving measures were performed, but the suspect ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

There were no injuries sustained by law enforcement personnel and there are no outstanding suspects or threats to public safety. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation. The suspect’s name will not be released at this time, pending the ongoing investigation.

The deputy involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave per Department policy. The involved deputy’s name will not be released at this time. This is an active investigation and no additional details are available at this time.
