Temecula Edges Hillsborough Dukes in the National Championship in the Junior Varsity Division
The Temecula Valley Pop Warner Bears took home 3 trophies yesterday and were crowned National Champions in the Junior Varsity Division. This was the second year in a row that Temecula has won the Championship. The Cheer & Dance Championships completion brought together 400 plus teams competing this year.The Golden Bears edged Hillsborough Dukes 92.76% to 92.70% to capture the crown.
The Bears had the best overall score of all teams that competed. They won the Best Choreography, Highest Score and the National Championship.
This years Bears Team is coached by Kristin Juve, Jackie Stoner, Holly Cox, Starr Stackpole Allison Barcly, Jennifer Padgett and Patricia Mikkelsen.

For a cheerleading or dance team, the difficult road to the National Championship is quite similar to that of the football teams. A spirit team has to showcase their best routine at the League Championship. The top two teams in each division advance to the Region Championships and then on to the Nationals.
