On Tuesday, October 16, 2018, law enforcement from the Inland Empire and beyond will converge on Loma Linda Children’s Hospital for the 20th annual “Cops For Kids Fly-In”. Hosted by the Riverside Police Department, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, officers and deputies will fly, drive, and ride to the hospital to visit with the kids, pass out toys, and spread a little joy to those on the path to healing and recovery.
The unique part of this yearly event are the five police helicopters that land on the North lawn to greet these special patients. Add the SWAT vehicles, police cars, motorcycles, and K-9’s, and you have the makings of a day to remember. For the kids that cannot come outside, the officers and deputies will go inside to them to give each one a special gift or toy to show their unwavering support.
Loma Linda Children’s Hospital and its fabulous staff provide a family-focused environment backed by state-of-the-art care. They offer parents the comfort and assurance that their child is receiving the highest level of medical care available. Children have special needs that are different from adults, and this hospital understands and provides that unique medical care made just for them.
The “Cops For Kids Fly-In” is made possible because of the strong partnerships with the following law enforcement agencies: Riverside Police Department, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, San Bernardino Police Department, Ontario Police Department, Fontana Police Department, Rialto Police Department, Redlands Police Department, Patton State Hospital Police Department, University of California-Riverside Police Department, Pasadena Police Department, Los Angeles Police Department, and the California Highway Patrol.
