SoCal: The City of Temecula Recognizes the Linfield Christian Football & Volleyball Teams for their CIF Southern Section Division Championships

The City of Temecula recognized and congratulated both the Linfield Christian High Varsity Football team and Volleyball teams for winning their respective CIF Southern Section Divisional Championships earlier this year. The small but talented private Christian school located in Temecula, had two amazing teams that had remarkable seasons.

The Football team, led by Coach Dechon Burns guided the Lions to the 2018 Division XII CIF Southern Section Championship. The team was also the 2018 CIF State Division 5A Regional Runners Up.

The Team also scored 820 points for the season, which was first in the state and 4th in the nation. This record is also second in all time State history and 13th in National History. The Lions also finished first in most touchdowns scored in the State of California with 116.

The Girls Volleyball team, led by Head Coach Eric Hawes won the 2018 CIF Southern Section Division 7 Championship. The Lions beat Nordoff for the Title. The Girls went on to play and beat Eagle Rock in the CIF State Division IV Playoffs.

The Lions finished the season with a 31-5 overall record. Linfield finished second in the Ambassador league and…only lost 10 sets last season.

Congratulations to both teams for two amazing seasons.
