Temecula: 145 Firefighters Battled Brush Fire Tuesday


The Spread To 33 Acres Before it is 75% Contained

Cal Fire Officials reported that 145 firefighters, 16 engine companies, four air tankers and four fire crews were dispatched to a brush fire Tuesday afternoon. The wildfire broke out around noon just east of Temecula in the unincorporated area near San Ignacio Road and East Benton Road. Two Helcorters were used in containing the fire.

No evacuations and there were no immediate reports of property damage from the fire acording to fire officials. By 5pm, the blaze was said to be 75 percent contained. So far approximately 33 acres have been burned.

There was also Prescribed Burn near Murrieta on the Santa Rosa Plateau today.
