Temecula: The Battling Bruins Pewee Cheer Squad Takes Second at the JAMZ National Youth Cheer Championships


The Battling Bruins Edged by Anaheim Lady Rams

The Temecula Valley Battling Bruins Pewee Cheer squad finished second in the JAMZ National Youth Cheer Championships in Las Vegas this past weekend. The Tournament consisted of over 200 of the best Cheer and Dance teams from all over the country…and the right to compete was by invitation only.

The Temecula team, coached by Patricia Mikkelsen was edged by the Anaheim Lady Rams by a score of 89.17% to 88.13%. The road to the National Championships for a Cheerleading or Dance team is just as difficult as for football teams. The competition is tough in tournaments and it gets tougher as they advance to the Nationals.

This Year’s Temecula Valley Battling Bruins consists of Bree Padgett, Abby Elliott,Ashlie Matlock, Cailyn Kujala. Delaney Loveridge, Grace Barclay, Hailee Stoner, Hunter Stackpole, Jenna Juve, Kiera Cavanaugh, Kelsey League. McKenna Duty, Morgan Mikkelsen, Sage Scott, Samantha Cox, Samantha League, Tara Mahoney, Tori Stackpole, Gavin Cox and Hunter Mikkelsen.

The Head Coach is Patricia Mikkelsen and her assistant Coaches are Kristin Juve, Holly Cox, Starr Stackpole and Jackie Stoner. Colleen Mahoney is the Batling Bruins’ Team Mom.
