Temecula: Bye Bye Birdie Presented by the City of Temecula Youth Musical Theater June 18-July 1

Bye Bye Birdie is a stage musical by Michael Stewart and lyrics by Lee Adams and music by Charles Strouse. This delightful play will be presented by City of Temecula Youth Musical Theater on June 18-July 1 at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater.

Agent and songwriter Albert Peterson finds himself in trouble when hip-thrusting rock and roll superstar Conrad Birdie is drafted into the Army. Albert’s secretary and sweetheart, Rose “Rosie” Alvarez, comes up with a last-ditch publicity stunt to have Conrad Birdie record and perform a song before he is sent overseas.

She makes Albert promise to give up the music business and to start teaching English. They plan to have Birdie sing Albert’s new song, “One Last Kiss” and give one lucky girl from his fan club a real “last kiss” on The Ed Sullivan Show before going into the Army.

Come see the hilarious antics unfold in this music packed love story.
