Temecula: CHP Plans Special School Zone Traffic Enforcement at 3 Schools on March 14

The California Highway Patrol (CHP), Temecula Area will be conducting a special enforcement and education day on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Lisa J. Mails Elementary School, Dorothy McElhinny Middle School and Bella Vista Middle School in the unincorporated area of Riverside County.

The event will begin at 7:30 AM with CHP officers conducting enforcement and education in and around the school zones.

The CHP would like to remind everyone to drive safely through school zones. Drivers must watch their speed and refrain from being distracted with cell phones and other dangerous driving behaviors.

Please watch for pedestrians and bicyclists and use caution at and near crosswalks. Children under the age of 18 are required to always wear a helmet when riding a bicycle or scooter. Pedestrians are also required to obey all traffic laws and use designated crosswalks when walking to school.

The CHP is committed to doing their part to keep the community safe. They urge every member of the community to be safe and follow the rules of the road. Traffic safety is everyone’s responsibility.
