Saturday, August 24, 2019, at approximately 2:50 am, a 24 year old male was driving a 2005 Dodge Neon northbound on I-215, just north of Lower SR-74. The Dodge Neon was traveling in the # 3 lane at an undetermined speed.
For unknown reasons, the driver of the Dodge Neon allowed his vehicle to drift onto the right shoulder. The Dodge Neon began to travel in the dirt portion of the right shoulder and overturned. The vehicle began to roll in a northeasterly direction and collided into a chain link fence.
The Dodge Neon came to rest of its roof. The impact caused the Dodge Neon to become fully engulfed in flames. Cal Fire pronounced the driver deceased at the scene. No other vehicles were involved. No lanes were closed.
