Temecula: Shots Fired at Driver in Foiled Carjacking at the Park and Ride’ at 40820 Winchester Road

On November 30th, 2016, at approximately 5:15 A.M., officers from the Temecula Police Department responded to a report of an attempted carjacking near a‘P ark and Ride’ location at 40820 Winchester Road within the city of Temecula. The reporting party told the officers that three people attempted to carjack him while he was seated in his parked vehicle waiting for his vanpool to arrive.

The suspects arrived at the location in a suspected stolen vehicle taken earlier in the night during a reported carjacking in San Diego County. While the victim was seated in his vehicle, one of the suspects approached the victim’s car door, brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s vehicle.cropped-kalifornia_logo_main

After a brief struggle with the suspect, and fearing for his safety, the victim accelerated his vehicle and crashed into the suspect’s car causing damage to the suspect’s car. As this occurred, one of the suspects fired two shots from his weapon at the victim, striking his vehicle.

The suspects involved in this incident are still outstanding and fled from the location in a Silver Dodge Neon with accident damage to the driver’s side of the vehicle.
