Temecula: Suspect Wounded in Officer Involved Shooting Sunday Morning

A Riverside County Sheriff’s deputy was involved shooting in Temecula on Sunday morning. The Sheriffs Department reported that the suspect was hospitalized with what was described as non-life-threatening injury.

On Sunday at about 10:43 AM, officers from the Temecula Police Department responded to a call of a suspicious person in the 31500 block of S. Temecula Parkway. The initial officer made contact with the suspicious person and an officer involved shooting occurred.

The Officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave per department policy. The involved officer’s name will not be released at this time. Investigators from the Riverside County Sheriff Department’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
