Temecula: Two Pedestrians Walking in a Crosswalk Hit & Seriously Injured Wednesday Night


At about 8;30 pm on Wednesday, January 23ed, two pedestrians were seriously injured when they were hit by a large pickup as they crossed a street. The two were in a marked crosswalk walking north across Madigan Street along the west side of the intersection with Morgan Hill Drive, when they were hit.

The California Highway Patrol identified the victims as 51 year old Michael T. Quoc Pham, 51, and Ynhi Trang, 49, both residents of Temecula. They were hospitalized with major injuries.

The driver, a 61-year-old Temecula woman identified as Dorothy PorcaroMs. Porcaro was driving her 2017 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on Morgan Hills Drive, making a left turn onto westbound Madigan Street.

Ms. Pocaro did not see Mr. Pham and Ms. Trang walking within the crosswalk and struck both of the pedestrians with her vehicle. After the impact, both Mr. Pham and Ms. Trang sustained major injuries. Ms. Porcaro remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The driver was not immediately arrested or cited as the investigation continues. The CHP asks that anyone with information on the collision call 951-506-2000.
