Temecula: Winchester Road Rehab Project to Affect Traffic Starting January 16


The City of Temecula, Department of Public Works will begin construction of the Winchester Road Rehabilitation (asphalt repaving) Project on Tuesday, January 16th. Traffic will be affected from mid-January through mid-March.

Location of Work:

(1) The intersection of Winchester Road/Jefferson Avenue, including the full width of Winchester Rd leading towards I-15.

(2) The intersection of Winchester Road/Ynez Road, including the full width of Winchester Rd leading towards I-15.

Description of Work:

Full depth (1 1/2 to 2 1/2 ft deep) removal of existing pavement and subgrade materials. Complete reconstruction of section, including new base material and asphalt pavement. Restoration of utilities, traffic loops, striping and pavement markings.

Time of Work:

Nights between 9pm-5am, Sunday-Thursday, from mid-January through mid-March. Traffic control devices and signs will be in place to direct vehicles around work zones. Work within the intersections will necessitate detours utilizing adjacent streets. Message boards and detour signs will be implemented.
