Track & Field: Great Oak Sweeps the Southwestern League Final


The Wolfpack Dominates Both the Girls & Boys Teams

The Great Oak Girls and Boys teams dominated the 2017 Southwestern League Track and Field Finals. The event was held Thursday at Temecula Valley High School.

The Great Oak Boys scored an amazing 212, 2 points which out distanced the 145.5 that second place Vista Murrieta scored. Temecula Valley came in third place with 59, 4 points. Murrieta Mesa was next with 39.5, 5, Murrieta Valley fifth with 22, 6. and Chaparral came in last with 16 points.

The Wolfpack girls were more more dominant. Great Oak amassed 222.5 points. Second place Vista Murrieta finished a distant 82.33 points and Temecula Valley finished third with 63.83 points. Murrieta Mesa was fourth (62, 5.) Chaparral (59, 6) fifth and Murrieta Valley (4.33).

The winners of each event were automatically qualify for CIF-SS preliminaries which will e held on May 13. Second and third place finishers advance by meeting the minimum qualifying standard for their division.
