Track & Field: Vista Murrieta Grad Michael Norman Finishes Fifth in the US Olympic Trials


Michael Norman’s quest for a spot on the 2016 US Olympic Team ended today at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon in Eugene. The 18 year old, two-time Gatorade Track & Field Athlete of the Year finished fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 20.14.

The Olympic Qualifying 200 meters  race was won by Justin Gatlin with a time of 19.75 seconds. LaShawn Merritt placed second and Ameer Webb was the final runner to qualify with a time of 20.0 seconds.

Norman led Vista Murrieta to 2 consecutive California State High School Championships in 2015 &16. He now takes his talents to USC to run for the Trojans.
