UPDATE: Second Suspect Arrested for Pimping a Runaway Girl Under the Age of 16

On July 7, 2018, at approximately 3:06 a.m., the Riverside Police Department received a call from a local business, located in the 3900 block of Market Street in the Downtown neighborhood, regarding possible child prostitution occurring.

The employees reported a female juvenile victim was at the store with an adult male suspect soliciting other customers for prostitution services. Officers responded to the store but were unable to locate the victim or suspect. Detectives assigned to the Riverside Police Department’s Vice Unit were later notified and began conducting follow-up investigation.

The Vice Unit’s investigation led them to arrest John Titow, a 59-year-old transient and registered sex offender from Riverside, as a suspect on August 2, 2018. Additional charges have since been filed to include human trafficking, pimping, and pandering.

Detectives continued with their investigation and determined a second suspect was also involved. They were able to identify and later locate this suspect in the unincorporated area of Mira Loma on Thursday, August 16, 2018.

Leonard Martinez Jr., 32-years-old of Mira Loma, was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for “Pandering of a Minor,” or 266(i)(a)(2) P.C., “Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a Minor,” or 288(c)(1) P.C., “Engaging in Prostitution with a Minor,” or 647 (b)(3) P.C., and “Annoying and/or Molesting a Child,” or 647.6(a) P.C.
