Wildomar: One Person Seriously Injured, 2 More Hospitalized in Head On Collision…Driver Arrested for DUI (Drugs),Hit & Run


On Friday, June 15, 2018, at 9:11 a.m.,Wildomar Police Officers and CalFire responded to a report of a head-on collision on Baxter near Central, Wildomar. Upon arriving, officers located a Hyundai SUV and a Toyota SUV which had collided head-on.

One passenger of the Toyota SUV, a 41 year old Baldwin Park man, was seriously injured as a result of the collision and transported to a local area hospital. The driver of the Hyundai, as well as an additional passenger in the Toyota, were also transported to a local area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The Traffic Reconstruction Team of the Lake Elsinore Police Department is conducting a full investigation to determine the cause of the collision. The driver of the Toyota, Albert Sanchez, 39 of Wildomar, was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs – causing major injuries to others, and Hit and Run.

Sanchez will be booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center. Baxter was closed between I-15 and Central for about five hours during the initial on-scene investigation.
