Youth Basketball: Serious Fun & Training at Murrieta Valley’s Hawks Holiday Camp for Boys & Girls January 2 thru the 4th


The Clinic Helps Building Character & Confidence On and Off the Court for Beginning and Advanced Players

Murrieta Valley head coach Brian Wethers and coach Todd Malecki will be conducting the Hawks Holiday Camp for boys and girls in grades 4th through 8th. The Clinic begins on January 2nd and runs thru the 4th.

The camp conducts quality, high-intensity, drill based training that focuses on not only bettering your child’s skill set on the court, but also building character and confidence off the court. Designed for beginning thru advanced players.

Our clinic is designed for the kids to learn new skills and teach them how to properly work on their game” said coach Wethers. We provide a fun energetic atmosphere and with the ability to provide teaching and instruction to all age and skill levels.”

Wethers is the Head of the Nighthawk Basketball program. He previously ran two other successful local high school programs; Calvary Murrieta and Linfield Christian. Last season, Wethers was the Director of Basketball Operations at the University of California-Riverside.

Wethers attended the University of California-Berkeley from1999-2003 where he was a four-year starter for the Golden Bears. He holds the school record for most points scored in a single NCAA tournament game with 27. After college, he went on to play professionally overseas in numerous countries; Germany, France, Australia, Ukraine, New Zealand and Lebanon. He also spent time in the NBDL with the Bakersfield Jam. While playing in Australia, Wethers led the league in scoring and was named League MVP.

Coach Todd Malecki has been coaching since 1986. He started as the varsity assistant coach at Compton High School. He has coached at Torrance High, South Gate and moved on to coach at Cerritos College and LA Harbor College.

He has coached and directed over 75 basketball camps from youth to the pros. In 1993 he became director of Icemen Basketball which has placed 171 players in colleges. He is also the founder of the Annual Desert Valley All Star game.

These camps will strengthen your athletes mentality while boosting their confidence to become more aggressive and skilled players” said coach Maleki. “Our camps will provide a focused, fun learning environment that cannot be rivaled”.
